Mykhailo Mudryk has joined Tottenham on a season-long loan from Chelsea, giving the Ukraine international a fresh opportunity to revive his Premier League career under Roberto De Zerbi.
The move was confirmed by both clubs on Tuesday, September 1, with Mudryk returning to work with De Zerbi after the pair previously spent a season together at Shakhtar Donetsk.
Tottenham’s announcement confirmed that the 25-year-old forward is available for the campaign ahead. The agreement is also understood to include an option for Spurs to sign him permanently for £75 million next summer, although the clause is not mandatory.

Mudryk said he was eager to begin training and playing for the north London club after completing the move.
“It’s a great feeling. I can’t wait to start training and playing for the Club, and I’m so excited to be reunited with Roberto De Zerbi,” he told Tottenham’s official website.
“I’m a player who brings speed and creativity, and I want to help in both the offensive and defensive areas. I want to make the fans excited.”
De Zerbi, appointed Tottenham head coach earlier this year, said Mudryk had the qualities to make a significant impact in attack.
“Having worked with Misha earlier in his career, I know exactly what he can bring to our team,” the Italian said. “He has the quality to change a game with his speed and ability in one-vs-one situations, and is an exciting, attacking talent.”
Mudryk’s time at Chelsea failed to match the promise he showed at Shakhtar, where he developed into one of Ukraine’s most highly rated attacking players. Chelsea said he made 73 appearances for the club after joining from Shakhtar in January 2023, scoring 10 goals.
His progress was then halted by a doping suspension, which kept him out of competitive football for almost two years. He has not played a competitive match since November 2024 and must now rebuild his fitness and form in north London.
Tottenham have reshaped their attack this summer, with Mudryk joining fellow arrivals Savio and Omar Marmoush. The winger can operate on either flank and will be expected to add pace and creativity to De Zerbi’s forward options.
For Chelsea, the loan represents a chance for Mudryk to regain his confidence and market value away from Stamford Bridge. A successful spell at Tottenham could yet lead to a return to the Chelsea squad or a permanent transfer next year.
