President Donald Trump is due to hold a midterm election rally in Port Huron, Michigan, on Sunday, October 25, with FOX 2 Detroit scheduled to conduct a private interview with him before the event.
The rally will take place at McMorran Place Arena, where doors are due to open at 11.30am and Mr Trump is expected to begin speaking at 3pm local time. The event is being organised by the Michigan Republican Party and tickets are required to attend.
FOX 2 Detroit said its coverage of the presidential visit will begin at 1.30pm, ahead of the rally and the planned interview.
Port Huron officials have said the visit will be the first by a sitting US president to the city and St Clair County. Local authorities have been working with state and federal agencies on preparations for the event, which is expected to draw large crowds to the downtown area.
Police and city officials have announced traffic restrictions and road closures around McMorran Place for Sunday, with measures expected to begin in the early morning. Several nearby car parks will also be closed or reserved for event and accessible parking.
The appearance comes as Republicans campaign ahead of Michigan’s November 3 midterm elections, with Mr Trump seeking to rally support for candidates in the battleground state.
