White Castle will open its new Daytona Beach restaurant on Tuesday, September 22, bringing the fast-food chain’s distinctive square sliders to Volusia County for the first time.
The restaurant at 1944 LPGA Boulevard, west of Interstate 95, will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9am before welcoming customers.
White Castle’s Daytona Beach location covers 3,430 square feet and includes indoor and outdoor seating, as well as two drive-through lanes. It is expected to be open daily from 6am until 2am, offering dine-in, takeaway and drive-through service.
The new restaurant will feature so-called “hospitality doors” instead of conventional drive-through windows. Staff will be able to step outside and hand orders directly to customers, a design intended to retain a face-to-face element in the service.
Customers will be offered the chain’s familiar menu of square-shaped sliders, alongside sides including fries, chicken rings and breakfast items. The restaurant will be led by general manager Kenneth Espinal, who joined White Castle in 2021.
White Castle said the opening will create more than 60 jobs in the local area. Chief executive Lisa Ingram said the company wanted the site to become part of the surrounding neighbourhood.
“Every Castle we build is meant to become part of the neighborhood around it, a place people come back to for years,” Ms Ingram said. “Our mission is to create memorable moments every day, and we cannot wait to start making them here.”
White Castle expands in Florida
The Daytona Beach restaurant is part of White Castle’s recent expansion in Florida. The company returned to the state in 2021 with its Orlando location, which it describes as the world’s largest freestanding White Castle.
It also operates restaurants in Clermont and Kissimmee, while a fifth Florida location is planned for St Augustine.
