Shailene Woodley has appeared to respond to Aaron Rodgers’ claims about their broken engagement with a smile, after being approached at a pre-Emmys fundraiser in West Hollywood.
The actress was asked about comments made by the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback during an appearance on Cam Heyward’s “Not Just Football” podcast. She did not offer a public rebuttal, instead laughing before leaving.
Rodgers claimed that, days after he proposed, Woodley told him: “Before we get married, I gotta go f*** this guy.” The allegation has not been addressed directly by Woodley in the material available.
He also disputed her account of their separation, saying she had removed her engagement ring by March 2021 and that later attempts at reconciliation had failed.
Rodgers said there was no relationship left by 2022 to formally end. He also accused his former partners of helping to promote narratives about him that he said were untrue.
Woodley’s friends are reportedly concerned that Rodgers has begun discussing the relationship publicly, particularly because the pair allegedly have not spoken for more than two years and Rodgers is now married.
For now, Woodley has chosen not to engage with the claims publicly, responding to questions with a smile rather than a detailed statement.
