CJ Perry has revealed that her spy thriller Bulletproof Angel is being adapted for the big screen, with work already under way on the film.
The former WWE star announced the project during an interview with her husband, WWE wrestler Rusev, while discussing the book ahead of its release on November 10.
“It is going to be made into a movie,” Perry said. “We’re already in the works.”
Perry said the production team had begun putting the project together and described the planned film as a James Bond-style spy thriller led by female characters.
Bulletproof Angel follows a Russian undercover spy who poses as a model while dating a Russian mafia boss. When the operation goes wrong, her mother is forced to intervene and help save her.
Perry, who has acting experience, said she intends to produce the film and cast a bigger-name actress in the lead role. She added that she might appear in a cameo.
Rusev could also feature in the adaptation after Perry said he had been offered the part of one of the villains.
Perry said a director had already been secured for the project, although she did not disclose further details.
Before the film reaches the screen, Bulletproof Angel will be released in bookshops on November 10. Perry is also due to hold a signing at Barnes & Noble at The Grove in Los Angeles on the day of publication.
