Adria Arjona has described the appeal of playing a flawed and unpredictable character in Onslaught, while discussing the action horror film and her work with Michael B. Jordan on The Thomas Crown Affair in an interview with CBS Mornings.
Arjona said she “liked the messiness” of her character, Celeste, a former Army sniper and mother forced to confront a squad of genetically engineered super soldiers after they escape from a secret military facility.
The film, directed by Adam Wingard, places Celeste at the centre of a violent fight to protect her young daughter. A24 is due to release Onslaught in cinemas on 4 September 2026, with Dan Stevens, Rebecca Hall, Michael Biehn, Drew Starkey and UFC fighter Alex Pereira also among the cast. Arjona’s comments come as she takes on a physically demanding leading role that requires her character’s military past, family life and emotional instability to collide under extreme pressure.
The actress also spoke about The Thomas Crown Affair, in which she stars opposite Jordan. The new heist thriller is directed, produced and led by Jordan, with Kenneth Branagh, Lily Gladstone and Danai Gurira also appearing.
Amazon MGM Studios has confirmed that The Thomas Crown Affair will be released in cinemas worldwide on 5 March 2027. ([aboutamazon.com](https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/entertainment/thomas-crown-affair-michael-b-jordan-amazon-mgm-studios?utm_source=openai))
