A domestic disturbance in Jarrell, Texas, ended with an armed man found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after a standoff with police on Saturday, 12 September 2026.
Officers were called to a home in the 100 block of Citation Drive at about 9.35am. Police said a woman ran from the property as the first officer arrived, while a man shut himself inside.
The woman told officers she had been physically assaulted by her husband and chased along the road while he carried a handgun. She also alleged that he had fired the weapon inside the house in her direction.
Residents in nearby homes were ordered to shelter in place after police were told that a shot had been fired. The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office then sent its SWAT team to assist Jarrell Police Department.
Negotiators received no response from the man. SWAT officers subsequently entered through a breached window and sent a tactical drone into the property, where they found him with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The operation also involved the sheriff’s office crime scene and patrol divisions, Jarrell Fire Department, Williamson County EMS and county emergency communications personnel.
Police said the investigation remains under way. The identities of those involved have not been released pending notification of relatives.
