Carla Jeffery, the actress best known for playing Bree in Disney Channel’s Zombies franchise, has died aged 33.
Her death was announced on Wednesday by Alexanders Talent Management, which said she died on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. No cause of death has been disclosed.
The agency said it had represented Jeffery since she was 12 and described her as a “beautiful, vibrant, and incredibly talented woman whose radiant smile could light up any room”.
“Carla was more than a client,” the statement said. “She was family.”
Jeffery appeared as Bree in the first three Zombies films and also reprised the role in the animated spin-off Zombies: The Re-Animated Series. Her other credits included appearances in Curb Your Enthusiasm, Southland, American Vandal, Good Luck Charlie and Shake It Up. She began her acting career at the age of 12, including a role alongside Mo’Nique in the 2006 film Phat Girlz. Alexanders Talent Management said: “Our hearts are with Carla’s family and loved ones during this devastating time. We respectfully ask that their privacy be honoured as they grieve this unimaginable loss.”
It added: “Rest beautifully, Carla. Your light will never be forgotten.”
Tributes from Jeffery’s Zombies co-stars followed the announcement, with Milo Manheim writing: “Carla. The sweetest person I have ever met. I love you.”
Chandler Kinney remembered her as “the brightest shining light in any room she walked into. the kindest person you’d ever meet. the most beautiful soul”, adding: “this doesn’t feel real…..”
Pearce Joza, who played Wyatt, posted: “I love you, Carla.” Ariel Martin, Trevor Tordjman and Noah Zulfikar also shared messages mourning their former co-star.
Jeffery’s final public Instagram post was published on July 26 and showed photographs from Meg Donnelly’s birthday celebrations. Donnelly and Jeffery appeared together in the Disney franchise.
