A man accused of fatally stabbing his former friend in Seymour, Victoria, had known the victim before he began dating the mother of his four children, it has emerged.
Marc Robertson, 43, is charged with murdering Aaron Grant, 28, following an alleged altercation at a house on Heywood Crescent in the early hours of March 29, 2025.
Grant was found with stab wounds in the driveway shortly before 3am. He was taken to hospital but died a short time later.
Police allege Robertson left the scene before later presenting himself at a police station. He was subsequently charged with one count of murder.
Robertson appeared in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on March 31 last year, where he did not enter a plea and did not apply for bail. He was remanded in custody while investigators carried out forensic analysis.
Grant’s death was described by friends and former teammates as a devastating loss. The Longwood Redlegs Football Netball Club, where he had played alongside his brother, said he would “always have his place in Redlegs history”.
Robertson remains before the courts. The charge is an allegation and has not been tested at trial.
