Manchester United striker Chido Obi has agreed a season-long loan move to Willem II, with the transfer subject to a medical and the completion of final formalities.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported on Wednesday, September 2, that the 18-year-old will join the Dutch club until the end of the season. The agreement does not include an option for Willem II to buy the player permanently. Obi joined United from Arsenal in 2024 after building a formidable scoring record in the London club’s academy. He made eight senior appearances under Rúben Amorim but spent most of last season with the club’s youth sides.
The forward scored 20 goals in 37 matches for United’s under-18 and under-21 teams last season, but he did not establish himself as a regular part of the first-team squad. His last senior appearance came in the final match of the 2024-25 campaign.
