Luisa Zissman has revealed she paid her 16-year-old daughter Dixie £2,750 after promising her cash incentives for achieving strong GCSE grades.
The former Apprentice star discussed the results on LuAnna: The Podcast, explaining that she had offered £1,500 for a grade nine, £1,000 for an eight, £500 for a seven and £250 for a six.
Dixie achieved grades six and seven across her exams, earning the full £2,750 under the deal. Zissman said her daughter had also been one mark away from an eight, while two of her sixes were within two marks of a seven and had been sent for remarking.
Zissman said the results were good enough for Dixie to secure a place at the sixth form she wanted to attend, after previously admitting she had been nervous about the outcome.
She had told listeners that the financial reward was intended to encourage her daughter to work hard and demonstrate that effort could lead to financial benefits.
Zissman also said she had initially believed other pupils at Dixie’s school were receiving similar payments, after her daughter told her that “all the kids were getting it”. She later discovered that was not the case.
Following the results, Zissman shared a video of Dixie opening her grades and wrote on social media that she was “so proud” of her daughter, adding that she had worked hard to achieve the results she wanted.
