Ethan Klein is seeking to remove his ownership and financial interests from the H3 Podcast and his joint ventures with his wife and co-host, Hila Klein, as the couple navigate a separation.
The move follows Hila’s allegation that Ethan admitted to having an affair lasting more than six months. The H3 Podcast has been placed on indefinite hiatus, while its crew has said it will not continue working with Ethan involved.
In an Instagram Story, Ethan said he was working with Hila to “urgently remove” his ownership and financial stakes in their podcasts, Teddy Fresh, Teddy Glow and any joint venture from which he would profit.
What Hila Klein said about the separation
Hila said she was “living in a nightmare” and alleged that Ethan had been having an affair after she had raised concerns and received what she described as dismissive responses.
“My husband is having an affair. I have been fed lie after lie after lie for months,” she wrote.
She said she did not yet know the full extent of the alleged affair and was concentrating on caring for herself and the couple’s children while they navigated separation and co-parenting.
“The betrayal I feel is immeasurable,” Hila said. “The person I loved and trusted for 20 years evaporated overnight.”
The couple built an online following through their h3h3Productions channel and the H3 Podcast. Hila is also the designer behind the Teddy Fresh clothing brand.
H3 Podcast crew responds
The podcast’s indefinite hiatus had been announced by the H3 account before Hila’s statement. The crew later expressed support for her and said it would not work with Ethan involved or profit from his participation.
The team has not announced whether the programme will return, or whether it could continue in a different format. Ethan said he believed the crew could make a show without his involvement.
“I know the crew will make an awesome show, they are packed to the brim with the most talented, creative, hilarious and all around great people,” he said.
Ethan also asked people to support Hila and the crew without enriching him, while requesting that his family’s privacy be respected and that they not be contacted. The podcast remains on indefinite hiatus and its future has not been confirmed.
