A 36-year-old man from Portland died after losing control of his motorcycle on Interstate 5 in Clark County, Washington, on Thursday afternoon.
The Washington State Patrol said the crash happened at about 3pm as the rider travelled south near milepost 20. He was wearing a helmet but died at the scene.
Another vehicle passed through the crash area before stopping nearby, according to troopers. The driver is now being investigated as officers examine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
It remains unclear whether alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash, or what part the other vehicle may have played. The Washington State Patrol has not released further details.
