An influencer born in New York has been arrested in Colombia after national police allegedly found firearms, ammunition, cash and drugs at her apartment.
Wendy Durán was charged with manufacturing, trafficking and carrying firearms and ammunition, according to the Attorney General’s Office. She has pleaded not guilty.
Police and a judge reportedly went to Durán’s apartment with a warrant on Monday over missing rent payments. During the search, officers allegedly discovered two 9mm Glock pistols and a 5.56-calibre Colt rifle fitted with holographic sights and a laser attachment.
Authorities also said they seized a money-counting machine, digital scales, 4,844 US dollars in cash and drugs.
The Attorney General’s Office said investigations were continuing into Durán’s possible involvement in other criminal activity, as well as the origin and intended destination of the items allegedly found at the property.
Durán has about 8,000 followers on Instagram and describes her brand as a platform to “create authentic content that captures attention, builds trusts, and drives results.”
