An FBI cellphone analyst presented location data in the trial of Kewon White, who is accused of killing Dallas rapper MO3 in an alleged murder-for-hire plot.
Prosecutors called the analyst as one of their final witnesses in the capital murder case in Dallas. The evidence centred on cellphone data linked to White and its relevance to the timeline surrounding MO3’s death.
White’s defence questioned the expert about the timing and interpretation of the location information, challenging how precisely it could place the defendant during key moments in the investigation.
MO3, whose real name was Melvin Noble, was shot dead in an ambush on Interstate 35 in Dallas in 2020. Prosecutors allege that fellow rapper Markies Conway, known as Yella Beezy, hired White to carry out the killing after a long-running feud between the two artists.
Conway has pleaded not guilty to capital murder and denied involvement. White is already serving a sentence for an unrelated gun charge and faces a separate capital murder charge over Noble’s death.
The prosecution subsequently rested its case. Devin Brown, who is also charged with capital murder, is due to face trial separately, while proceedings against Conway and Brown are expected to follow White’s trial.
