Podcast host Brandi Kruse claims she was escorted out of a National Women’s Soccer League game after being challenged over a shirt bearing an XX-XY logo.
The incident took place during a Portland Thorns match, where Kruse said a security guard told her she had to leave. She refused, according to videos she posted on Instagram.
The shirt was from XX-XY Athletics, a brand that opposes the inclusion of transgender athletes in women’s sports.
In one video, the security guard warned Kruse that she would be escorted from the stadium and said she would place her hands on her to move her off the property.
Further footage showed Kruse being walked out of the venue. Someone filming the incident asked security whether she was being arrested.
The guard replied that Kruse was not under arrest and was simply being removed from the stadium. When asked why she was holding Kruse’s arm behind her back, she said it was because Kruse had refused to leave after being instructed to do so.
Kruse repeatedly insisted that she had done nothing wrong and said she was being restrained.
The Portland Thorns and Kruse have been approached for comment, but no response had been received.
