A suspected DUI driver led police on a high-speed chase across Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley, reaching speeds of more than 100mph before being arrested, according to reports.
The pursuit began on the 5 Freeway, where California Highway Patrol officers attempted to stop the driver. The vehicle continued towards downtown Los Angeles, with the driver allegedly weaving through traffic, cutting off motorists and forcing through narrow gaps between lanes.
The chase later returned to the 5 Freeway as the vehicle travelled north towards the San Fernando Valley. Its lights were reportedly switched off for much of the pursuit.
The driver then left the motorway in the San Gabriel Valley and stopped at a petrol station, where they refuelled before speeding away again.
Officers continued the pursuit until the vehicle reached the North Arroyo area. Police searched the surrounding neighbourhood and subsequently took the suspected DUI driver into custody.
