A Houston stabbing suspect barricaded himself inside a home in Independence Heights after a person was stabbed near North Shepherd Drive and Crosstimbers Street, police said.
Houston Police Department officers were called to the area at about 4.20pm on Friday, September 11, following reports of a stabbing. Police said the victim had suffered a wound to the back.
The suspect was later believed to have shut himself inside a property, prompting a police response in the surrounding neighbourhood.
The incident took place near the Garden Oaks Village apartment complex in the 4400 block of North Shepherd Drive. Northbound lanes of Shepherd Drive were closed as officers dealt with the scene, according to local reports.
Neither the victim nor the suspect had been identified. Police had not released details about the victim’s condition or confirmed whether anyone had been taken into custody.
