Dallas police officer Troy Allison has been charged with official oppression after allegedly striking a handcuffed suspect and gripping the man by the neck and hair, according to an arrest affidavit. Allison turned himself in at Dallas County Jail on 6 October, the Dallas Police Department said. The charge is a Class A misdemeanour. The Australian Taxation Office’s credit card payment ban has been delayed after the federal government agreed a year-long transition period with the agency following backlash from small businesses. Treasurer Jim Chalmers will provide transitional funding to help the ATO manage the change and give affected taxpayers more time to adjust.
