A 16-year-old girl has been killed and a 21-year-old man injured in a shooting during First Friday celebrations in Old Town Manassas, Virginia. The gunman remains unidentified and has not been arrested.
Manassas Police said officers were investigating after the two victims were shot during the evening event. The teenager was pronounced dead, while the man’s condition has not been released.
The identities of both victims have been withheld. Detectives and crime-scene investigators remained at the location as the homicide inquiry continued.

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting, or who captured photographs, mobile-phone video or doorbell-camera footage in the area, to come forward.

Manassas Mayor Michelle Davis-Younger said the community was grieving after violence overshadowed an evening intended for residents, families, businesses and visitors to gather safely.
“Violence has no place in Manassas,” she said, urging anyone with information to help police identify those responsible.
