Hot, humid and occasionally stormy weather is set to continue across Milwaukee through the rest of the working week, with Thursday night into Friday morning emerging as the period most likely to bring a more organised spell of thunderstorms.
FOX6 chief meteorologist Rob Haswell said a disturbance could trigger the stronger round if atmospheric conditions come together, although there will also be lengthy dry intervals between storms.
Wednesday, September 2, is expected to bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to Milwaukee, with very humid conditions and a high of 88F. Temperatures will fall only to around 72F overnight, while further showers and storms remain possible.
The National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan said heat indices across south-eastern Wisconsin could reach the low to mid-90s on Wednesday, with locations that receive more sunshine briefly approaching 100F. It also warned of additional scattered storms from Thursday through Friday. Thunderstorms could become more organised on Friday
Thursday is forecast to remain very humid, with scattered showers and thunderstorms and a high of 86F. Winds will turn westerly at between 5mph and 15mph.
Storm chances will continue into Friday, when temperatures are expected to reach 84F after an overnight low of about 72F. The most closely watched period is Thursday night into Friday morning, when the incoming disturbance could help thunderstorms develop greater organisation.

By Monday, the forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies, a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, and a high near 82F. Haswell said the broader pattern may begin to weaken late in the weekend and early next week, allowing a modest cooling trend to develop.
