Oakland city leaders met residents in Montclair on Monday to discuss illegal dumping, traffic-related crime and deteriorating street conditions across the California city.
The community meeting had been planned in advance and brought local officials together with people seeking action on problems affecting neighbourhoods throughout Oakland.
Illegal dumping was among the issues raised, alongside concerns about crime involving vehicles and the wider condition of the city’s roads and streets.
The forum provided residents with an opportunity to put their concerns directly to city leaders as Oakland continues to face pressure over public safety and neighbourhood upkeep.
