Thirteen people were hospitalised after an employee shuttle bus crashed at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey in the early hours of Monday, 31 August 2026.
The vehicle reportedly jumped a kerb and struck a concrete wall shortly after 3am on the Level 3 departures roadway outside Terminal B, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
Three people suffered serious injuries, although none was believed to be life-threatening. The remaining ten injured passengers were treated for minor injuries, ABC7 New York reported.
The crash caused the closure of the Level 3 roadway while emergency crews cleared debris. Passengers departing from Terminal B were advised to use Level 2 for drop-offs because of police activity at the scene.
The cause of the Newark Airport shuttle bus crash remains under investigation.
