A 20-year-old woman is in a critical condition after being shot in Seattle’s Northgate neighbourhood on Thursday night, 3 September.
Officers were called to Aurora Avenue North, near North 125th Street, at about 11.11pm and found the woman with a gunshot wound to her abdomen. Police provided first aid before Seattle Fire Department paramedics took her to Harborview Medical Centre.
Investigators said the woman had earlier been involved in an altercation with a man at a nearby hotel. The pair left separately, but police believe the man later drove up in a black SUV while she was on Aurora Avenue North and shot her.
The suspect fled west on North 127th Street and had not been arrested, Seattle Police Department said. Detectives from the department’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit are investigating.
